Responsibilities:

Main responsibility is to research, develop/build, test, and report on product developments in current and future remote access technologies to ensure optimum and cost-effective utilization of the firm's current technologies through upgrades and integrations, or through adoption and customization of new and more effective technologies. This role needs to continually keep abreast with the dynamic and ever-changing product developments and technology trends. Provide high level expertise in enterprise-wide server management and hands-on server support. Ensures client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position.

Essential Functions:

1. Performs maintenance, installs software upgrades and troubleshoots technical problems.
2. Develops test plans, evaluates solutions, documents recommendations and implements changes to our server and remote access environment.
3. Identifies and develops ad-hoc tools as required to support our remote access environment.
4. Provides support to desktop analysts and programmers who might use the infrastructure in their applications.
5.Implements capacity planning programs for managing systems.
6. Keeps current on technological developments in the specialists' area of responsibility.

Participates in enterprise-wide server operating system software recommendation, installation and configuration in conjunction with local technology staff.

Client Service and Satisfaction in Technology Services
1. Ensure that internal and external clients receive exemplary, seamless support in all aspects of job position. 2. Proactively communicate with internal and external clients to ensure Technical Analyst needs are met. 3. Regularly review client service procedures and standards related to position; identify and implement enhancements to client service.

Secondary Functions:

Provides training in area of expertise.
Participates and/or leads in special project teams as appropriate.
Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

1. Expert level knowledge of Microsoft server technologies.
2. Five to seven years experience in the design, installation, modification and maintenance of technology, including multiple platforms, product installation, and maintenance and problem resolution.
3. Five to Seven years experience working as a MS Windows 2000/ NT 4.0 administrator.
4. Experience with server hardware installations including but not limited to HP/Compaq Proliant servers.
5. Expert level knowledge and experience with thin client solutions (Terminal Server and/or Citrix Metaframe)
6. Experience with wireless messaging systems such as Blackberry and PDA devices 7. Very good project management skills required.
8. Very good communication and inter-personal skills with a team orientation.
9. Law firm experience (over 1000 user environment) is desirable.
10. Vendor management experience desirable.
11. Must be willing to participate in a demanding 24x7 pager rotation
12. Scripting or programming skills desirable highly desirable.
13. Knowledge of storage man
