Job description:
telecommunications Engineer team responsible for planning, implementation and operations of telecommunications infrastructure.
Responsibilities include daily operational responsibilities for all telecommunications and video conferencing components in the DC offices. This includes planning, installation/implementation, and oversight of systems administration and on-going maintenance of hardware and operating system, backup and recovery, providing functional guidance and training of IT staff with regard to telecommunication and video
conference operations and administration leadership in resolution of problems escalated from sites.
Requirements include a BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or
equivalent in experience and/or training. The ideal candidate has 7+ years experience in Telecommunications; 5+ years with Nortel Meridian Systems;proven experience with voice messaging and video conference technology, TCP/IP, Ethernet, LAN, WAN, routers, switches, network management; Experience with telecommunications administration; Network administration including experience with Cisco routers, Compaq servers, Microsoft NT and 2000 Server, Active Directory, network storage and
backup systems is a plus.
The person in this position must have excellent analytical, and verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team, experience in implementation of complex telecommunications applications. This position requires the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Project and Visio required.
