Senior UNIX Systems Administrator - San Francisco 415
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a history of maintaining high availability Unix servers across multiple environments and deep experience troubleshooting server and network level issues that arise. Excellent collaborative and communication skills are a must.
Required Skills:
-5+ years UNIX Systems Administration experience in both Solaris 8 and Redhat Linux
-7+ years general computing experience
-Strong shell scripting background ( Bash, Perl, Python, etc.)
-Experience with NAS, Databases, Jumpstart, Kickstart, LDAP, NIS, NFS, load balancing
-In-depth knowledge of 3-tiered architecture, using Apache, WebLogic and Informix
-Working knowledge of networking protocols and systems
-Able to take on a leadership role and act as mentors to other IT personnel
-Solid communication and documentation skills
-Can adapt quickly in an ever changing environment
Desirable Skills:
Cisco IOS knowledge, Cisco VoIP, Alteon load balancer configuration
Responsibilities:
-Be part of the Network Operations team in charge of the daily operation and maintenance of all Unix servers.
-Troubleshoot application, network, and server level problems.
-Setup new servers and workstations. Upgrade software and hardware as necessary.
-Maintain integrity of mission critical servers and services.
-Write Perl, Python, or shell scripts to automate redundant tasks.
-Assist NOC in production troubleshooting and general maintenance.
-Work closely with the engineering group concerning new projects and assist in troubleshooting.
-Help out in the upcoming corporate office move.
-Participate in infrastructure and capacity planning.
