Professional Services Group consults with Fortune 500 companies and their law firms to automate the classification and categorization of millions of pages of documents.  Due to the nature of  engagements, the Professional Services Project Manager is typically working with senior litigators in major law firms and/or key individuals in the General Counsel office of major corporations. 

Seeking a dynamic and energetic team leader to join our Professional Services Group as a primary engagement team leader.  In this role, the Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading and managing multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams through complex client engagements that range from 3 to 12 months in duration. 

The Project Manager works with other functional team leads to ensure  understands the client’s needs, properly negotiates the project scope and requirements, adequately manages client expectations, identifies and resolves issues/obstacles in a timely manner and completes the scoped work with high quality, on time and on budget.  This dynamic team leader will be comfortable in a range of environments, from interacting directly with clients to leading detailed project team meetings.  In addition, due to the diversity of needs on each engagement, the Project Manager will have demonstrated experience in finding creative solutions to unique and challenging client needs.

Primary Responsibilities

-Manage large client engagements of 3 to 12 months in duration, including scoping, planning, executing and delivering.
-Work closely with the Client Manager to ensure clear understanding of client requirements and to properly set and manage client expectations, proactively communicating  capabilities and limitations.
-Work closely with functional team leads to define feasible project scope, document requirements and validate project plans as compared to client timelines.
-Lead the project team through the planning process to identify and define the appropriate processes and secure the necessary resources to complete the work.
-Lead, coach and mentor multi-disciplinary teams consisting of permanent and temporary employees through all aspects of the scoped engagement work.
-Maintain the project schedule, manage inter-dependencies, identify and mitigate project risk and facilitate project team communication. 
-Communicate project status, issues, risks and changes to all project team members and management.

Minimum Qualifications

-6-8 years of experience leading consultative professional service engagements spanning over 6 months in duration.
-Experience managing client expectations, and in negotiating and managing requests for changes in scope.
-Demonstrated comfort and competence with technical concepts and technical issues.
-Software development life cycle experience a plus.
-Demonstrated experience managing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams.
-Demonstrated comfort in ambiguous situations.
-Demonstrated “roll up the sleeves” attitude and experience.
-Excellent communication and organization skills.
-Strong Microsoft Office skills  
-Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree such as MBA or JD a plus
